AudienceScience, Inc. has exciting opportunities for Operations Engineers (IT) within the Engineering team. Operations Engineers at AudienceScience are running the production platform behind a massively scalable system that provides audience targeted advertising for some of the biggest names on the web. They have a knack for building highly scalable operational environments that keep the infrastructure behind 2.5+ billion daily transactions humming along.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide front-line technical support and customer service in person as well as via email and phone
- Use of excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure that customer and system problems are resolved in a timely fashion
- Administer daily operational needs including Service Desk and Desktop support, security/rights management, user account management, backup management, office systems and application management
- Research, test and develop solutions for common problems in a methodical, detail-oriented and logical way
- Escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources
- Document all customer issues and support calls in our ticket
- Deploy, maintain and track technological assets
- Work on other IT initiatives and ongoing projects as assigned
Requirements/Skills:
- Degree/diploma in Information Systems or related industry with 2 years additional experience.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Self-starter who manages their own priorities and activities
- Excellent organizational skills and discipline to follow through
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as experience in providing technical support to remote customers (LiveMeeting, Remote Viewer, etc)
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with the desktop configuration associated with the operating system, Microsoft Office, LAN/WAN/WLAN configuration, printers, etc.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, IIS and IP
- MCP and A+ or applicable experience
- Proficient in Windows server 2003, 2008, XP, Vista, and 7
- Knowledge of the following:
- Internal & accompanying components of the desktop environment (processor, memory, video card, monitor, mice, keyboard, etc.)
- Windows security (Security Accounts Manager, Access Control List, Logon Processing, Auditing, etc.) at an intermediary level
- Determining the appropriate mechanism (NTFS, Security Groups, etc.) to manage desktop security
- Windows domains and domain related functions (replication, DFS, etc.)
- Corporate anti-virus products (SAV, SEP, McAfee, etc.) and the enterprise tools available to manage these products
- Server virtualization technologies – VMWare & Hyper-V
- Experience in Mac OS would be advantageous
- Data Center and server hardware experience preferred
- MCSE certification preferred
